LE ROI ANGUS

French Rock
Genève, CH
Biography.

Fresh, exciting and ambitious. That’s how Geneva’s indie scene looks right now. And among its current crop of bands, one is doing particularly well: Le Roi Angus. With their blend of vintage pop and psychedelic rock, their sound approaches something like yé-yé on acid. It’s an odd formula that’s drawn the attention of the Swiss media and given the band the key to the country’s most iconic clubs.

It all started three years ago when singer Martin Casim Admonk owned La Centrale an underground club where he invited some great young and talented musicians playing psych rock. They were a revelation for the vocalist, providing the perfect sound to play his music. Le Roi Angus was born soon after.

Things moved quickly. A few months later, the five members of the newly-formed band locked themselves in a studio in San Francisco to record their first album Îles Essentiel, widely supported by national medias in Switzerland and in France. Le Roi Angus has since toured heavily and is going to release its second album "Est-ce que tu vois le tigre ?" in 2018.
